The Project
Globe Point Office is a purpose built, seven storey, 40,430 sq ft of Grade A space laid out over seven floors across dual aspect floorplates and is the first building constructed on the site adjacent to the Hol Beck to the South of the train station, this being the gateway to the new Temple district on Globe Road, Leeds. The base build contract was let on a JCT design and build contract with a 67 week construction programme, commencing in April 2021 and completing in August 2022.
Our Role
Perito were appointed as Quality Monitor, our scope included technical design appraisal of RIBA Stages 2, 3 & 4 and comments on construction issue drawings (RIBA stage 5). Onsite inspection and monitoring of construction and review of samples as well as benchmarking of finishes. We further conducted reviews of contractor quality control, undertook and coordinated the client’s snagging in co-operation with retained designers and tenant’s representatives. We also undertook the end of defects inspections.
Key Outcomes
- Attaining client quality requirements resulting in the building winning numerous awards including BCO Commercial Workplace Regional Award for the north of England 2018 and the RICS Yorkshire & Humber Commercial Award 2018.
- Achieving Sectional Completion dates allowing Tenant fit out to commence and project completion on programme.
- Building our relationship with our client with further appointments being confirmed for Perito with CEG.
